I've heard that in his new book, Things I've Said, But Probably Shouldn't Have: An Unrepentant Memoir , he describes why his prestigious family disowned him over a typo in the New York Times.

Anyone has a more detailed story? intrigued128.237.238.231 21:59, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce Durn was avid cross country and distance runner

[edit]

Bruce Durn was avid cross country and distance runner who was known for his flag shorts (a US and Southern flag). He often ran for the L. A. Striders. I use to run with him or against him from 1963-1967. I barely beat him in the Rosmont Hills 10,000 meters cross country in 1966. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.229.58 (talk) 12:40, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I was surprised that his endurance running wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the article; I remember reading a story that while filming I think it was "The Great Gatsby", unlike his co-stars he used to decline the studio car to take him from the location to his hotel in central London, and would run back. Given his abilities, and the London rush-hour traffic, he often beat his colleagues in the cars… Jock123 (talk) 16:43, 27 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Added a running anecdote. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:470:1F1C:A4:0:0:0:2 (talk) 14:14, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Bruce Dern's Godmother: Correction

[edit]

Eleanor Roosevelt was NOT his godmother, as it states. In this interview he says he met her, visiting Hydr Park, but she is not is godmother and he is unsure where that rumor comes from.

Birth date identification

[edit]

Later than you think. Bruce Dern is one of the villain character actors who was born on June 4, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Kenilworth. Please check all websites other than Wikipedia. You have not provided reliable sources, per WP:DOB, for that information. It is not up to me to look for it, and dob cannot be added it is properly sourced per Wikipedia rules. I have other things to do. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 00:19, 23 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
